I was looking at the week in nature photography on The Guardian. They had captured a picture of a "ringtail" on an animal camera in Oregon. I didn't know what they were.
This is a Ringtail, also called a Ringtail Cat, although it is most closely related to a raccoon.
Apparently, they live all over the western US, but I was unaware of them. They are nocturnal and rarely seen.
You learn something new every day.
It looks a lot like a Ring-tailed Lemur, but it is not.
